Due to the forecasted bad weather for Wednesday, the above event will now take place on Thursday 15th July. As part of the above event, for the Junior and Special Unit pupils, the Year 6 pupils have organised fun stalls for all the children to join in with, eg. Nail painting, quizzes etc. All pupils will be given a complimentary token to use on one of the stalls but additional turns can be had for a small cost of 25p.

Letter to all parents – Breakfast Club & Registration

July 12th, 2010

9th July 2010

Dear Parent,

As you are aware, Ysgol Bro Banw has a county run Free Breakfast Club in operation in both our Infant and Junior sites and also in our Special Unit.

The club operates from 7.45am until the commencement of the school day. However, no child can be admitted after 8.20am in the Junior club and 8.30am in the Infant club.

In addition to this, we have received information from the council that due to concerns over food allergies, no pupil can be admitted to the Breakfast Club unless a registration form has been completed beforehand.

We are keen to ensure that all our pupils have the opportunity to benefit from this free resource and so can we urge all parents to complete a registration form if they feel their child may wish to access the club.

Forms are available from the Administrative Office at either site.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs M. Davies.

Headteacher.

Letter to All Parents – Inspection Report

July 9th, 2010

7th July 2010

Dear Parent,

Please find enclosed a summary copy of Ysgol Bro Banw’s Inspection Report.

We are delighted to be one of only a handful of schools to have attained the highest grades possible in 6 out of 7 areas, testimony to the high standards of both teaching and learning. Should you wish to read the full report, a copy is available on Estyn’s website or upon request at the school.

In addition, please find enclosed the data for end of Key Stage Teacher Assessment for this year. I have included the results in two formats; one with all pupils included and the other with pupils in our special classes excluded.

May I thank all my staff for their hard work and dedication throughout the year and also, the pupils, for their continued good effort and outstanding attitude.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs M. Davies.

Headteacher

Letter to Year 6 Parents

6th July 2010

Dear Parent,

Year 6 Leavers Assembly

Due to the level of commitment the children have had this week, there has been insufficient opportunity to practice for the above assembly.

In order that the children have the chance to give of their very best for their audience, we have decided to re-arrange the date of the assembly to Thursday 15th July at 9am.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and hope that you will understand the pupils’ desire to shine on this occasion.

Yours faithfully,

The staff and pupils of Year 6.

Letter to All Parents – Fitness & Football Challenge

July 2nd, 2010

1st July 2010

Dear Parents,

On Wednesday July 14th, teachers and children from Ysgol Bro Banw will hope to complete the Fitness and Football Challenge. A 200 m course will be set out on our school fields. The teachers and children will need to complete 300 laps to complete the fitness challenge. Teachers and children will take it in turns to run with the baton for the 300 laps needed to complete the challenge. We would like all children to take part, but the amount of laps they complete will depend entirely on the age, ability and fitness of each individual. The number of laps completed by each child could range from 1 to 8.

In addition the children will take part in a penalty taking competition. Each class will take it in turn to try and score penalties against teachers and volunteers. We would like you to guess how many goals will be scored over 4 hours.

Please find enclosed a Sponsorship Form where we would be grateful for any contributions raised which will be used towards school funds to enable the children to take part in school trips and many other activities.

In order that your child is able to take part in the challenge could you please sign the consent form below.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs M. Davies.

Headteacher.

All Junior Classes – School Trip

June 29th, 2010

28th June 2010

Dear Parents,

We appreciate that this is very short notice but the School Trip to Pembrey will now take place tomorrow on Tuesday 29th June.

All other details would remain the same. The visit will take place during school hours, so please ensure your child has a packed lunch and is suitably dressed ie. non-uniform. Children that have free meals will receive a packed lunch.  The children may bring £1.50 with them on the day for ice-cream.

We would be grateful if you could send your contribution of £5 with the reply slip below as a matter of urgency as there are still many outstanding amounts to be received. I feel that it is unfair on the parents who have paid to have to subsidise those who haven’t made a contribution. It is only these payments which enable the children to be able to have a school trip.

It is vitally important that the new Parental Consent form below is completed as any child who does not have a consent form will be unable to go on the trip. However, please indicate where marked if you have already paid.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs. M. Davies

Headteacher.
